Setting out with great enthusiasm last year as the local organizing committee, we brought the Tutam Tutam Mathematics Festival—originally held in Istanbul in 2022 and 2024—to Izmir. Throughout the festival, mathematics became more visible, accessible, and exciting through nearly 30 interactive stations, 4 exhibitions, and 6 talks. The spaces created with the contributions of numerous associations and communities, particularly the Tales Mathematics Museum, enabled participants to discover diverse facets of mathematics.

This year, carrying the same excitement, we continue our journey as the Izmir Mathematics Festival, coordinated by Dokuz Eylül University and supported by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. We are together once again to demonstrate that mathematics is not merely a collection of formulas, but a way of thinking and discovery woven into every aspect of life.

By bridging mathematics with art, technology, and daily life, we aim to offer an accessible and engaging experience for everyone. In this event, which brings together participants of all ages, curiosity, experimentation, and discovery take center stage. Our goal is to transform the participants’ perspective on mathematics, encouraging them to question further, explore new concepts, and enjoy the process.
